A new Doja Cat era is upon us. Back in February, the pop star announced her next album Vie in classic Doja style: by tweeting-and-deleting. Now, she’s shared the first taste of the music with a spot in Marc Jacob’s new pre-fall campaign, Staycation.
The singer stars in the brand’s latest collection which features a summery video that finds her traipsing across city streets and fire escapes. It all matches the vibe of the new song, called “Jealous Type,” which, with its sparkling disco-y beat, sounds like a sequel to “Say So.” “Baby I can’t hurt you, sure, but I’m the jealous type,” she can be heard singing in the track.
“Jealous Type” follows a slew of new music from Doja, who just released “Lose My Mind” with Don Toliver from the forthcoming F1 movie soundtrack. She also guested on a track with Jack Harlow for his song “Just Us” and appeared on “Born Again” with LISA and RAYE. At the 2025 Oscars, she performed with the two stars in a James Bond tribute, singing the classic song “Diamonds Are Forever.”
Doja is also expected to attend the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night, the theme of which is set to celebrate Black tailoring and menswear designers. In an interview with Elle, she said of the theme: “It’s really empowering and important for me personally to be able to express myself and my Blackness—and what it means within the history of America. I think seeing everybody else’s depiction and interpretation is important as well.” Her look for the evening is still under-wraps but we assume she’ll be going all out (remember her 2023 look as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette?).
