Agriculture have shared plans for an LP titled Living Is Easy / The Circle Chant. Due out May 3 on The Flenser, the album will fuse four new songs (Living Is Easy) with the four tracks from their debut EP (The Circle Chant) to make a 12-inch vinyl record.
Along with the news, the Los Angeles-based four-piece have shared the title track from side A of the forthcoming project. “Living Is Easy” is seven minutes of guitar-led, white-knuckled “black metal.” Already quite upbeat for its nominal genre, the song explodes into the utter ecstasy Agriculture are constantly seeking near the two-minute mark, a reaction catalyzed by a stadium solo with a melody more fit for a Civil War battlefield than a Metallica concert. As the track continues, the band play a supercharged game of self-oneupmanship, inducing in the listener a state of non-stop catharsis.
Perhaps even more fun than the track itself is its Sam Blakesberg-directed video, in which Agriculture and their recent tour mates Chat Pile start off as the best of road pals but end up visciously murdering each other by the time the dust settles. Watch the clip and stream the track on its own below, followed by the cover art and tracklist for Living Is Easy, as well as Agriculture’s upcoming tour dates. And read the interview with the band we published along with our premiere of their debut, self-titled album last summer.
