YNW Melly career was heading in the right direction around this time last year. As one of Florida’s fastest rising stars, Melly snagged a co-sign from Kayne West. The co-sign lead to a hot single called “Mixed Personalities” which was produced by C-Clip Beatz and BoogzDaBeast. The song peaked at number 19 on billboard, however he became a trending topic from the success of his single “Murder On My Mind”. The controversial song rose eyebrows and side eyes after the young rapper was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in February 2019. In the song includes details of a murder scene where he graphically describes how and after shooting somebody went. Although the song was released before the murders of his two friends, the lyrics of the song have been picked apart by the public. Awaiting his trial facing the death penalty, Melly is still racking up sales and streams. This week, “Murder On My Mind” went quadruple platinum. According to ChartData, the 20-year old artist, just went platinum for the fourth time .
