Speculation regarding J. Cole’s The Fall-Off has finally been addressed by the artist himself. Previously, podcast hosts Rory and Mal claimed that both Kendrick Lamar and Drake held two features each on the project. While the claim was initially met with skepticism, J. Cole has now confirmed its accuracy.
During a recent appearance on Cam’ron’s Talk With Flee podcast, Cole revealed that Kendrick Lamar was indeed featured on two tracks at the time Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” was released. He described the timing as highly inconvenient for his own rollout.
“Right at that time I had just got off tour with Drake, I had went on tour with Drake, we did that… at that time I had been working on The Fall-Off which was done and by the way, somebody leaked it… he was on two joints,” Cole explained.
Although the final version of the album released last month did not include these features, the revelation provides new context regarding the state of the industry during the onset of the high-profile rap beef.
