Chris Brown has been denied bail by the Manchester Magistrates’ Court in England, CTV News reports, after the R&B singer was arrested on Thursday (May 15) on charges of “inflicting grievous bodily harm.” Brown is accused of an “unprovoked attack” in Tape, a London club, on February 19, 2023.
Prosecutor Hannah Nicholls told the court on Friday that Brown used a bottle to attack music producer Abe Diaw over two years ago. Brown is currently in the U.K. on tour, and was arrested in Manchester ahead of his scheduled performance at the city’s Co-Op Live Arena.
Upon remanding Brown into state custody, District Judge Joanne Hirst announced the case would be handled by Southwark Crown Court in London, with the next hearing scheduled for June 13.
