Lil Nas X Gets Futuristic For The Holiday Season

After mounted anticipation, X delivered the new music video to fans in time for the weekend. The visual features X taking on the role of Santa while turning up around robots.

Lil Nas X has shared a new song called “Holiday,” his first solo single since he released his 7 EP more than a year ago. Produced by Take a Daytrip—who collaborated with the rapper on “Panini”—the song comes with a shiny, Santa-themed visual treatment. The teaser featured a cameo by Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox. The Gibson Hazard-directed video—which is set on Christmas eve in the North Pole—finds Santa Lil Nas X overseeing his team of robotic elves, riding around in a slick red sled pulled by robotic reindeer, and donning a number of futuristic looks. Lil Nas X Keeping Busy

Throughout the year, X has kept busy away from the recording studio. He’s won awards and appeared at various events including a fundraiser concert.

Nas previously appeared at this year’s virtual GLAAD Media Awards ceremony and was a guest on an episode of the HBO Max Sesame Street spinoff series The Not-Too-Late Show. The rapper co-headlined a four-hour livestream fundraiser for pandemic relief via the Shein phone app, alongside Katy Perry, and he was one of the featured commencement speakers for Facebook’s #Graduation 2020 virtual event, honoring high school and college graduates who were unable to attend in-person ceremonies this May.
