Earl Sweatshirt Celebrates Feet Of Clay 1-Year Anniversary

West Coast rapper Earl Sweatshirt knows how fast time flies by. The hip-hop entertainer has celebrated the one-year anniversary of his Feet of Clay project by delivering some exclusive merchandise. Earl has taken things even further by sharing lyric videos for every song on the project.

A year ago, Sweatshirt blew fans away with his EP and made sure to pay it the proper respect in 2020. Earl’s new merch includes a couple of graphic sweatshirts.

On November 1st, 2019, Earl Sweatshirt shared the 9-track EP, which features Liv.e, Mavi and Mach-Hommy, prophetically stating that the project “is a collection of observations and feelings recorded during the death throes of a crumbling empire.” He then shared the deluxe version over the summer with additional guest appearances from Maxo and Navy, and production by Alchemist and Black Noi$e. Just one year later, the conceptual proof behind Earl’s captivating body of work emerges in the face of a pandemic and a political uprising. The Feet Of Clay Release

Sweatshirt has made it an annual habit to put out music around Halloween. For the tunes, he’s worked with everyone from producer Alchemist to musicians like Mavi.

Earl’s largely self-produced project features guest spots from Charlotte rapper MAVI and Haitian-American rapper Mach-Hommy. There’s also additional production from the Alchemist and Ovrkast. Feet of Clay arrives nearly a year after Earl Sweatshirt’s album Some Rap Songs, which was released on his previous label Columbia Records. In a conversation with Pitchfork, Earl said leaving Columbia meant more artistic freedom. “I’m excited to be free because then I can do riskier shit,” he added. (Pitchfork)
