DJ Funkmaster Flex Backs Up Rumors Aimed To Destroy JAY-Z’s Image

Hot 97 radio veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex is going for JAY-Z’s throat. The hip-hop personality and deejay has come forward to back up accusations of Shawn Carter supporting former president Donald Trump in exchange for getting a buddy out of prison and left some mocking words.

Funk Flex Accuses JAY-Z Of Trump Deal

Funkmaster Flex went online with a doctored New York Times post that had put JAY with recent presidential pardon Desiree Perez. Perez reportedly cooperated with law enforcement in the past. Flex went as far as to say JAY-Z cut a deal with Trump in order to get Perez free. Aston also shared a photo montage of Perez next to notorious snitch Tekashi 6ix9ine.

“? ???? Thanks @hrradiolady for the heads up! ?”

Roc Nation CEO Pardoned By Donald Trump

The legendary hip-hop deejay recently had questions. When Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez’s name surfaced among those who received pardons from the outgoing president, Funk Flex grew curious about the details of Perez’s past. Back in the 1990s, she was convicted on conspiracy distribution charges and cooperated with the US Attorney’s office on her case. Funk Flex promised on his next radio show to discuss the situation.

“Congrats to JayZ and Roc Nation Ceo on the Donald Trump Pardon! MONDAY 7PM WE GOT A STORY TO TELL! #JustMyOpinion (Guys if I can’t go to the brunch I understand) I NEED TO GET MY FACTS IN ORDER BEFORE I DISCUSS! I NEVER NEW THIS UNTIL TODAY???? HOW DOES EVERYONE FEEL ABOUT THIS?”

Desiree Perez Speaks On Presidential Pardon

In the time since her conviction, Perez has worked for criminal justice reform and social justice. After being pardoned, she gave a statement to Billboard.

“I’m grateful to have received a pardon and to have formally closed that chapter of my life in the eyes of the law. I have taken full accountability for my mistakes from 25 years ago, but I also take tremendous pride in my personal growth, perseverance and accomplishments since then. This pardon reinforces my lifelong commitment to advocate for criminal justice reform and social justice initiatives.”

Hip-Hop Heavyweights Receive Trump Pardons

Some other notable names in hip-hop received pardons from the 45th POTUS in his final days in office. Lil Wayne, Kodak Black and Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris along with Perez were legally cleared and/or had their sentences commuted in their cases.
